Conversely, I think the best thing they did with the Piscean fellow was Clutching At Straws. |

I don't really think they are underrated. Rather I think they are overrated and I don't like them except the first three albums with Fish.

Script... is quite possibly the best debut album ever released and he rest of their albums are rather great. I do need to get more H era albums but there not as bad as some people make out.

One of my favourite bands! My personal No1 album is Fugazi, followed closely by Script and Clutching... I also dig most of the H era albums.

Yeah, I can see that. Well, I never got tired, but just have been on Genesis (Gabriel era) and Kansas binges lately. E |

Hey Red Sector A, the problem is that there was a big Marillion discussion going on constantly a few months ago (led by E-Dub) and after that we all got tired of mentioning them so we stopped (I guess). Nevertheless, we still love them!

Not my cup of tea but if I found an album that grabbed me I'd be open to it.

Truly one of the best bands. Period. A buddy burned me a copy of Six Of One, Half Dozen Of The Other and I've been hooked ever since. Loved it all, but found myself drawn to the Hogarth era (I'm sure "Easter" had something to do with that. I've said it before, but it could be Marillion's most perfect song.) Ended up buying all of their CD's, most of their DVD's, and joined the Front Row Club.
I think as the time draws nearer for the release of Somewhere Else we'll be seeing more Marillion threads. E Edited by E-Dub - January 08 2007 at 04:16 |

Followed them for years although they were never that good.Just one of a few bands that were labelled ''prog'' so I bought every album from Misplaced Childhood onwards up to Strange Engine.By that time I had got bored with them.Nowadays the only album I care for is Seasons End.The rest could go into a skip to tell the truth.

I really enjoy Marillion music since my first years as a Prog fan. In fact was one of the first bands that I heard from that stuff... Besides that emotional fact, Marillion Fish-era has some of the most amazing prog albums of the prog history: Misplaced Childhood and Clutching At Straws.
From the Hoggarth era... mmmh... I really listen to them 'til This Strange Engine. After that album Marillion's music dissapoint me a little more each passing year... Even I love Marbles but now it's not the same music that I used to hear years ago... Anyway, still Marillion is in my personal pantheon of prog music... ![]() |

the old marillion were awesome, they really were.
I am trying to get into the hogarth era now but it is really difficult for me as I'm not much of a neo prog fan. |
