Same here Jim, never really cared for Nirvana myself, but that unplugged session was very impressive.
What burned me a lot after his death were these comparisons people were making of him to John Lennon. John was not the manic depressive/self destructive type. John certainly had his share of personal demons to contend with, but he always had the strength to overcome them. It took a bullet from a lunatic to put him down instead of his own hand.
If you want to make comparisons of him with classic rock figures, Jim Morrison would be more fitting.
