I think Eli is doing splendidly, and will continue to do so. Too bad the defense couldn't stop a High School football team....

Wow. Do you guys need some psychological counseling? One of those teams has to win a game. Eventually.

The Raiders play Cleveland this week. A week ago I would have said they stand a good chance to win this game. Now, after Cleveland won 51-45...I'm not so confident anymore. I REALLY don't want to go 0-3. |
It is going to be an a very rocky year for the Raiders. 0-3 would suck but what I would like to see is improvement week to week resulting in a great second half. There was tremendous improvement from week one defensively, running game too just offensively and kicking game lost that game. I don't think this team has enough to reach the playoffs but an 8-8 record with a good second half would go a long way leading to next year. |
Actually, I never REALLY believed the Raiders would be better than 8-8. I would like them to have some success, however. When, for that brief moment that they had looked like they won, the players were behaving like exuberant boys who were about to go to Disney World. It was neat seeing that a single victory might lift their spirits so.
I kind of like this Kiffin guy as our coach. We need some victories, however, if we hope to keep him.

I thought ELI played well against the Pack despite him nursing a shoulder injury. Your defense hasn't looked good, but I also saw ALOT of catchable passes were being dropped by their recievers

The 2-0 Lions faceoff against the 0-2 Eagles this weekend. Coming off a Monday night game, will the Eagles be prepared/recovered enough for the Lions. Is is possible that the Lions could equal their win total in each of the past 2 years in the first 3 games of the season? I might actual have to get back on the band wagon. We'll also have to breakout our "Another One Bites the Dust" CDs. (For those not familiar, when the Lions started a season 4-0 or 5-0 (probably 25 years ago) they re-recorded another one bites the dust and added various player names to the song. This was the day of Bubba Baker and Spiderman Allen. Probably the Billy Sims era.

I'm not sure how good the defense is....but the Lions O is scary. I mean you could put ME in as QB and do well, not too mention having a veteran QB in there.

The Lions sure have the talent to succeed and I hope they give the Iggles a performance on the level of what they gave the Cowboys in the last game of the regular season last year. They came into Texas Stadium and picked us apart so I have no doubt that they can play extremely well if they get their heads on straight.

I wasn't quite sure why he came back this year, and then I realized he just wanted to get the all-time interceptions record.

Brett Favre is one of the greats, I wouldn't say top 5 all time....but up there.
I mean.....he has the all time win record but dosn't he also have the all time loss record?
He'll probably get most passing yards, touchdowns, and
completions....but as we know he will probably also get most
interceptions.
It's just because he's been around so long..... but still a great QB.

Chiefs are finally in the win column. Game wasn't pretty, but the offense showed signs of life for once. I still think Solari is a horrible offensive coordinator. Love to have Al Saunders back!!!!

Actually Favre is ranked in the top 5 of every major statistical category for NFL quarterbacks, and owns not only the all-time wins record, but tied the all-time touchdowns record today. He is the only player to earn three (3) NFL Most Valuable Player awards, and will undoubtedly own the all-time yards and attempts records by the end of this season.
I mean.....he has the all time win record but dosn't he also have the all time loss record?
Not even close. Favre's regular season record is 150-90, and with a 62.5% winning percentage he isn't even in the ballpark for most losses.

True, but you have to break a few eggs to make an omelete.
It's just because he's been around so long.....
Maybe, but the next five quarterbacks in both categories in which he holds records (TDs and wins) all played as many years or more than Favre. None of them played fewer years, yet he holds those records.
but still a great QB.
At least you got that one right

Reality returns to Lions' land. That was more or less what we have come to expect from the Lions. Flashbacks to the Lions last playoff game against the Eagles all came rushing back.

Cowboys crushed the Bears at Soldier Field in prime time. 'Nuff said.

He shouldn't have bothered,if Peyton Manning stays on pace and has a nice, long career in the NFL he will shatter most of the existing QB records.

Once again the Ravens provided me with another nail biter, winning the game with a FG with 5 seconds left in the game after leading 20-6 for most of it.
Like I said....they keep it interesting.
