It's a bit grey and miserable here as well, Tony. Mrs Syzygy is a bit ill and watching some DVDs in the other room, I'm trying to decided what CD to put on next.

OK people, I have a dilemma
I have received my monthly pocket money (a pitiful £10) and have a massive prog craving, but can only afford two albums. The first I have bought is Camel's "Moonmadness" to add to "The Snow Goose" and "Mirage". My question is: what for the second. here's the choices. VDGG-"Pawn Hearts" or "Godbluff" Caravan-anything but the "The Land Of Grey And Pink" Hatfield and North- They're being suggested to me, are they any good? Any feedback would be great thanks. |

I agree with Tony, all fine albums but Pawn Hearts is the absolute 5 star must-have out of your possible choices. There are several Hatfield albums out there, but you only really need the two albums they released in the 70s (s/t and Rotter's Club).
Incidentally Tony, I also like Tom Waits. Recently I've been listening to Bone Machine a lot.

Nice to see a youngster popping by asking for advice from us wrinklies; gives me a nice warm feeling ![]() Good call on the Camel choice; I'd definitely go for Pawn Hearts (one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever), for Hatfield, I'd recommend 'The Rotters Club' every time, but as for Caravan, try to get hold of 'Songs For Oblivion Fishermen': a collection of their BBC sessions - marvellous! |
