I'm thinking Kayo Dot. 'Bath' is my favorite out of these two projects...but 'Choirs..' and 'Dowsing...' are 2nd and 3rd. I also prefer Blue Lambancey to Psychobells.
Basically it's close...but Kayo Dot wins. |

Kayo Dot. Incidentally, this topic was done before. Note: I offer only for reference purposes since old topics are locked at the board.
I posted in the 2007 topic. I know Maudlin of the Well better now, and more KD, and still much prefer Kayo Dot. Still love Choirs of the Eye (my fave album in the metal categories). |

Picking between bass and drums is a hard decision, but in the end you know it just HAS to go to drums. |

I didn't reach the end of your post. It's boring to me. It took too much time to reach any substance. |

Kayo Dot for me fore sure, although, unlike with some others, for me it is close.
Basically, their albums for me go: Choirs Dowsing/Bath Blue Lambency Downward Leaving Your Body Map Fruit PsychoBells There was, in fact, a short period where I liked maudlin more...but that's passed. Kayo Dot is the obvious victor in my eyes, but, like I said, not by too much. if maudlin had one more extremely solid/album up their sleeves (which, incidentally, they might now...!), they'd maybe be the victor. for me at least. |

In general, patience is rewarding. Kayo Dot are in a different league, imo. Prefer Tartar Lamb to MotW, too. |

Definately Maudlin Of The Well. It's more to the point, it's more diversified than Kayo Dot, it is far more spiritual and it is not that longbreathed.
I hope there will be a reunion of Maudlin Of The Well. |

I was joking about how you didn't answer the question in your first sentence, and thus your post "took too much time" to get to anything interesting. Nothing personal |

KAYO DOT is richer in terms of musical conception and clever deliveries. Eve nthough some metal-oriented fans may have been somewhat disappointed at their most recent effrot, the fact is that KD has proved that they can make aggressive, weird music without necessarily getting metallish. Kind regards.

I cant choose, Bath/Leaving Your Body Map, Choirs of the Eye and Blue Lambency Downward are all brilliant albums, with My Fruit Psychobells being a very good album as well, though I'm not that enamoured of Dowsing..., in the end the two groups are equal.
