^wow that's something pretty new! Rod Evans on vocals? Wow! I would like to hear that, except that David Gilmour and Andrew don't suit the style IMO.

Haha, yeah, I didn't want any over-technical drummers there and since Peippo does his job as a fast drummer (Resurssikysymys!) and as a slower drummer (umm, Dinosaurus Stereophonicus) I thought he would fit in the place... But overall that band would be a pretty weird line-up, no idea if it would work. x)

Well, this a tough one...I'm gonna have to use a limit here, just 1 member/band, I can't decide these otherwise. Tongue

So I guess it would be something like this

Vocals-Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth, He would sing a bit more clean vocals than in Opeth, so the clean vocals would be the main style and the growl an effect)
Guitars-Chuck Schuldiner (Death, R.I.P.)
Guitars-Jasun Tipton (Zero Hour)
Bass-Steve DiGiorgio (Yeah he's been in Death and Control Denied but I don't think I'm crossing my limit here since Steve's been in many other bands too, and is a founding member of Sadus for example)
Drums-Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)
Keyboards-Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon)

This band would of course make awesome consept albums. Thumbs Up

Btw, my first post here, so greetings, fellow prog fans! Smile

Has been some time since I did anything like that. I don't want to go with the  usual suspects either, and Jean already used Barbara Dennerlein, so I will need a line-up with a bass player. Let's make a German band:
Roland Schaeffer - guitar, sax, nagaswaram
Helmut Hattler - bass
Now if I include Mani Neumeier then we will almost have a Guru Guru line-up, so I need a different drummer. How about this one:
Christian Burchard - drums, vibraphone
A very Bavarian band so far. Now who could play the keyboards? Ah well, let's leave them out. Let's include another Bavarian instead:
Chris Karrer - guitar, oud, violin, sax.
And the vocals? Well, we'll have to counterpoint the Bavarian influence a bit, so let's use someone from the North of Germany (Hamburg).
Inga Rumpf - vocals, guitar, percussion
A strange line-up. Burchard, Schaeffer and Karrer will definitely add an oriental flavour, but Schaeffer is quite jazzy too, and Karrer can be really down to earth with heavy guitar, but also very spacey, especially with electric violin. Hattler is a very funky bass playe, and he and Schaeffer will both add a jazz-rock feeling too. And Inga is one of the great shouters and knows hot to sing the blues.
So what will this band be like? Oriental space jazz-rock with a bluesy feeling, sometimes quite heavy. Hm, interesting mixture.

BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue.

Primary Drummer: Christian Vander
Secondary Drummer Dany Carey of Tool
Additional Percussionist: I would go with the drummer from Van der graff generator because I like his work on Pawn Hearts and Godbluff a lot. Its very spacy and theatrical.
Upright bass: any jazz player that plays upright, probably someone from the experimental Miles Davis era
Normal bass: Roger Waters....he's very melodic but unfortunately I don't think he'd be chill with just being a bassist and not being allowed to sing about his father so I'd probably have to go with John Wetton.
Keyboard/Synths: Whoever is the main synth guy from Animal Collective.
