Right now:

Experiencing a Renaissance
S.B.B. is no B.S.
My iTunes is cluttered with Dungen
Wink

Why must my spell-checker continually underline the word "prog"?

I just started listening to Tori Amos' so she has been getting a lot of my music time; I have her first two studio albums. The other two right now would be Spheric Universe Experience (like the new album much more than Anima), and then Wolverine.

Pretty hard for this trio to ever be topped as my favorite bands/artists:
Neal Morse/Spock's Beard
Dream Theater
The Flower Kings

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Didn't they set some sort of record for cursing in that script? Tongue

Back to the question at hand, I'm into so many artists right now narrowing it down would be an exercise in futility.  So looking at my log of CDs I'll go with the following recent or somewhat recent discoveries:
Umphrey's McGee
Crimson Jazz Trio
The Reasoning.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I have been getting into a lot of Epica and Nightwish lately having an interest in the female lead singers of prog. Also I like what I am hearing from Mastedon. Great band experiencing a kind of revival.

Clap Bravo - try some Therion for more female lead singers - awesome!

Thanks!!!

I checked them out online and was amazed by the wall of sound they create. The singers are incredible. What album would you consider is Therion's best. I have heard Sirius B (?) is excellent.

Right at this moment.... Peter Hammill, Porcupine Tree, and Amon Duul II are the three prog bands I've been listening to the most (hence, enjoying the most).

Whatever my Ipod spits out on shuffle. Right now it's Burnt By the Sun-Soundtrack For A Personal Revolution. Not prog but very heavy and technical with drum wiz Dave Witte behind the kit.

A lot of people say Zappa. I guess with all the albums he has that's a bit of an endless pursuit
