My vote has to go to Slayer ... brilliant new album, almost perfect in every regard IMO. Not "perfect" in that it it's  necessarily better than their classic masterpieces, but rather in the sense that I like it a lot and that I don't think that they made any grossly bad choices (like Metallica did IMO).

I haven't heard the Slayer and Megadeth albums, but how exactly are they comebacks? Ermm Christ Illusion I think was very much a thrash album and it's not even very old, and I've heard that the last couple of Megadeth albums were very much leaning into the thrash direction as well.

Death Magnetic was a pretty good move into the thrashier direction, but I still much prefer Load.

^ You're right ... I was mainly thinking about Metallica when I wrote the poll title, the word "Comeback" is not really appropriate for Megadeth or Slayer.

EDIT: Have a listen to the bands on their myspace pages:

The latest Megadeth really grew on me I gotta say.
It's not my favorite 'deth album, but it's one I can listen to fairly regularly.
Great riffs, great songs.

Megadeth gets my vote. I like all their albums (even Risk), but I don't really care for the other two.

I have World Painted Blood and Death Magnetic, but I haven't heard Endgame yet (I'll check it out).

DM is good, and is somewhat of a return to form for Metallica. Certainly better than St Anger (which I didn't actually mind. It had some good songs on it), but not as great as their old stuff, still.

WPB is also quite good, but nothing really that new. They do slow down the pace a bit on some songs, and it isn't a total thrash fest.

I can't vote yet, as I haven't got the new Deth yet.
Hello, mirror. So glad to see you, my friend. It's been a while...

haven't voted as I didn't hear the Slayer album yet. Megadeth is surprisingly strong, Death Magnetic is awful.

I haven't heard the new Slayer album yet. I really dig the new Megadeth, and Death Magnetic is my second favorite Metallica alum after ...And Justice For All.

I would vote Death Magnetic, but since I don't have World Painted Blood, I'll wait to see if that changes my mind.
