The "Gospel", you mean? Dunno. BTW, you can also see it in video here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xbfosy_magma-a-lalhambra-le-gospel_music

The piece seems to be well known by the people on the zeuhl blogs, even if it's a recent one.

OK I'm taking a stand. I can't possibly listen to Gazpacho, Subsignal, William Basinski, Wisp, Susumu Yakota, etc. before wanting to make my list.

I'll finish Merriweather Post Pavilion, then give

The Future Kings of England - The Viewing Point
Wisp - The Shimmering Hour
Decemberists - Hazards of Love

...one last listen. Decemberists will get it unless there's an upset.

then it'll be time to decide order and write a brief write-up for them.

I must just not be in the loop, but I was wondering... How do we vote for album of the year?

It's pretty good Rico. I've listened to it only twice though....as I was going to sleep....so I got the first track and a half. That track and a half is pretty good though.

Well is there some kind of poll at the end of the year in which we all vote for album of the year, or does it just go by ratings?

Man, I love the bass about halfway through E-Re Pt. III.  Well, I love the bass through the whole album, but that part sticks out to me tonight for some reason.

@The Truth: Collaborators yes.

No collective one on the forum, but at least 10 such topics.

I've got a question guys: Has there ever been a "Battle of the Prog Bands" in the Polls section for the greatest Prog band of all time?  You know, those tournaments that some forums have where users vote for their favorite and they move onto different rounds?  I have been wondering, because most of the day I have been making a bracket for this sort of thing, and I want to know if it has already been done before and if the Staff Members would allow it.

Erm, I believe something similar has been done, but I'm not sure.  Have you tried checking the search engine?

It's been done many a time, but I'm willing to vote if somebody started one.

The Search Engine sucks, so that's why I'm asking you guys.  I guess I will still try doing one, but I may need a little help on some genres.  Could any of you help me on these?:

8 most popular Neo-Prog bands
4 most popular Indo-Prog/ Raga Rock (it seems as if almost no one listens to that sub-genre)
8 most popular Jazz Rock/ Fusion bands
8 most popular Progressive Metal bands
8 most popular Tech/ Extreme Prog Metal bands

I think I caught about half of the last one as far as I can remember. I think it might be time for a new one, since people's tastes change over time. It's a new decade after all.

..."and in this sense an easier listen than most of their earlier, more avant-garde work"

GOD NO!

I tried to listen to Strawberry Jam. It was weird. However, at least I get the impression that there were songs on it.
