I'd slit my throat. I don't listen to anything that sells to the masses.

Prog can never be popular as the songs are too long for radio play and average people's attention spans (or lack thereof). True, many prog artists have released short and snappy singles that got people interested and reached the charts, but those arn't really the essence of prog, meaning that it was more psychedelic rock and classic rock that people were into I guess. That's why Rush are on the radio often here, but it's always The Spirit Of Radio and not 2112

Popular music tends to be over-played on Radio and TV Music stations. I would hate to see Prog being played and played to the mind-less masses in this way. Prog is mean't to be played and savoured not thrashed and trashed!! Disapprove

Your all starting to sound like bible thumping republicans.
prog isn't a religion. it's music, an infinitely rich art form that allows for all kinds of expression. some of you sound as close minded as some mula spouting jihad. Is that progressive?
Maybe prog music isn't popular because its become the music of snobs who are also fools.

Really? Why not? That's kind of bizarre, when your main enjoyment from music comes from the fact that other people don't know about it.

I actually think it would be great. It'd be nice to actually be able to participate in conversations about music. Normally when people talk about music they're either talking about an artist I don't really know about, or I have to bite my tongue.
