Don't get Espers III, though, because all the songs are happy sounding and it's just incredibly boring and bland
Like, eurkk, way to totally ruin a good thing

Mr FirmTush told me the exact same thing about this album last night...

I've noticed something odd; any students here from Australia for a semester always seem to enjoy being friends with me even if we're very different people. Are all Australians that friendly?

I'm a completionist, so I'll have to. It's why I own Under Wraps and A, man.
Got any suggestions for me, musically?
I'm looking for darkly depressing, beautiful, lush, melodic folk/experimental folk/electric folk/prog folk.
Something that sounds like Jar of Flies era Alice in Chains, or Maudlin of the Well, or the soft side to Opeth, or Green Carnation's "Acoustic Verses", Comus' Debut and such.
|
God, I do love Jar of Flies.
Well, Agalloch have some excellent dark folk. The Mantle should be the highest on your list if you don't have it already.
You could also try Negura Bunget's new album, which is more dark, ambient, Romanian folk than it is black metal.
Orphaned Land's new album has some good Middle Eastern folk in there.

90% of kids my age who I know are pretty mean people (or at least mean to me) although most people around 20-22 seem to be pretty awesome, or the few I know at least. We definitely do have our fair share of pricks/racists/generally horrible people here though.

All the Australians I ever met were super friendly. I assumed it was a national characteristic.

I'm starting to think you need a new internet. Yours has lots of problems sometimes.

Same here. Didn't want to stereotype though so I figured I'd ask Joel.

JESUS CHRIST
I have no f**king idea what is the deal with this girl. So we're friends in high school, no big deal. We text every now and then afterward. We chill a couple of times. I go to a party at her house at the beginning of the summer. Things seem fine.
A couple of months ago I stop texting here and she stops too. But then I just decided to check in tonight and I'm pretty sure she deleted me from her phone. I don't get this sh*t. Who the f**k goes from inviting someone over to hang out and you know we're friendly and stuff, and then to nothing at all!?
God...well for one she was a f**kup with no class. But still....

If I've ever met an Aussie IRL, I don't remember it.

Girls can be crazy (sorry June ). Similar thing happened with one of my friends from high school recently (though I don't think she's deleted me from her phone). We hadn't talked in a couple months, now the couple times I've tried recently to just say Hi I don't even get a response to that. She texted me first once recently asking what was up, and I responded and asked her the same thing, NO RESPONSE. Makes me think she doesn't want to talk to me anymore. Oh well, whatever.

Yeah but I can't really do anything about it now.
I've never met an Australian.
