Have you opened the scrobbler up and looked to see if it's connected to Last.fm? It's under Help > Diagnostics.

Is there a plugin for whatever media player you are using? It could be that, or your mp3s might not be tagged. IDK

Try re-installing the application you use to play music.  Although I gather you tried WinAMP as well?  That works for me.  As does Spotify.

So it cannot be that.
