Battle of the Prog Bands R3D1: Genesis vs. Yes

Yes easily for me

Genesis. Always.

I chose a different way to justify myself. I made a list of my top 10 Genesis and Yes albums:

1. Close to the edge
2. Foxtrot
3. The Lamb...
4. Selling England...
5. Fragile
6. The Yes Album
7. Nursery Cryme
8. Relayer
9. Magnification
10. Wind and Wuthering

Now I gave the first 10 points, the second 9 etc. Then I summed up the values for Genesis and Yes. Result:
Genesis: 29
Yes: 26
I am relieved, that I voted correctly Genesis . I already started to doubt it.

No! i mean Yes

head explodes, but recently I have listend to Genesis over and over again, and I love thier sound they know how to compose great tunes both prog and pop, while Yes is also a magical band, and have moments which gives tears to my eyes, but I think Genesis is even more emotion evoking then Yes,

Unless you're some sort of ultra-snob, you will agree that these are two of the greatest and most fundamental progressive bands of all time. Choosing between the two is an extraordinary task... but Yes takes it.

This might get interesting, but....

Genesis! I never could get passed Jon's voice, even though I love Yes's music. I also prefer Genesis's music and Gabriel's lyrics.

Not to mention some stellar live albums and DVDs.

Definite win for Yes, especially Genesis never returned to the magic.

I'm pretty sure the Lady means can someone make her decision for her so she doesn't have to cast such a painful vote.

I'd hope, even with all the egos involved, no one member of Yes would say "I am Yes."
