Hey guys,

Could you check if all the member review for this album (http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=30453) are legit? I've been noticing a LOT of 4 and 5 star reviews of this surfacing the front page lately... pretty weird coming from an obscure band. Thanks!

Last check was a week ago or so I think, and at that point there wasn't any foul play detected.

I know you don't mean me, but I really got hooked up to this album, which allowed me to explore and understand it fully, created some kind of link to it. This is why 5(-)

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

at first I thought he was picking on "your generation" as in the younger generation  Tongue

It's a bad review for sure, but there are quite a few that are equally bad

I'd want to report this review:

Mainly because this paragraph:

Quote I am not afraid to give an album five stars when it deserves it, and this album "Rabbit" deserves it. All those that have insisted on giving this album 4.5 stars should think to round it up, not down (Math class, remember...). It's ashame that folks can't give an album five stars simply because they aren't born in the seventies. I'm not biased when it comes to different prog. styles, or eras, though the 80's slummed in the creative department... I love it all. Am I going to give all albums I think great five stars, no... but "Rabbit" is a modern day classic in its own right.

I received this album a few days ago from Dan Mc'Gowan, but I won't give 5 stars if I don't believe it's in the level of Foxtrot or Close to the edge, despite I consider Dan a friend.

All the three Collaborators that have rated his album (including myself) with a total number of 1346 reviews combined, made three reviews of more than 700 words each one, and we all agreed in a 4 stars rating.

But this guy with 1 review  and 1 rating only (both of this bands albums), comes and dares to criticize us of unfair, despite we rated this excellent album with 4 stars (A great rating for a new band), breaking tyhe guidelines.

Even worst, he attacks two different bands (none of which I like to be honest), in order to raise the level of Rabbit, something that is wrong.

If he wants to rate Rabbit with 5 stars, it's ok, but "The Tea Club" doesn't need (And knowing Dan McGowan, I'm sure doesn't want) fanboys criticizing other reviewers to prove they are good and the average ratings talk for themselves.

Cheers

Iván

NOTE: Just noticed I hadn't written my review when he made the comment, but still Finnforest and JLocke, made two very long and detailed review, and this guy called Themortician is nobody to criticize other members in a review.

^ It counts as a rating. The fact that it has some words to it doesn't change it's "weight".

This guy has posted a bunch of 2 star Tool reviews, and while I hate Tool as much as the next person, this review is about Jesus, not Tool.

I just saw one of these reviews on the front page and not only is it saying that Tool has been trying to summon a demon using music, but it is also confusing and does not reference the music itself

Now he's onto Black Sabbath, claiming that the music is unlistenable because the band members are on illegal drugs, and other nonsense.

Also, based on reading his review of Tangerine Dream's Cyclone, apparently emotions are not tolerable in music? Confused

His ability to form readable sentences is impressive.

"The group now shifts into prog and is left wondering about the world they did in Aenima is if they were all innocent of all the excretion they did on the ones they conned in getting to where they were" (from his review of Tool - Lateralus). I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean exactly Confused

It's almost like he submitted the same review four times.
