Neil Peart is?

I never said I had not heard the name; I only had not heard the mujsic.. And, due to their marketing campaign, I had always fikled them under hard rock. There was a short TV advert for a hard rock sampler I remember; Rush was one of the bands on i, and they played a few bars off their mnusic during that advert (as well as of other bands), and the category seemed tol fit from what i heard.
But I am very thankful to you all for the interest you all take in my home country, since you appear to be experts on it and especially on how Rush is being regarded here. It wll certainly be pointless to invite yoiu here since you know all about Germany already.

What's more irritating is that we've had the same argument about 3-4 times a year for the past four years, at least.

You can believe me when I say I had not heard of him before I came to this site. And I think most people will agree that I know a lot of prog music.

Ok, so English is not your first language but I am fairly sure one as erudite as you are would know the difference in English between heard and heard of...

So your supreme knowledge of Rush is based on a few bars heard on a TV advert. Come on, you're better than this!

Having heard of Rush does not necessarily mean having heard of Peart, strange as it may seem to you.

One thing we know for a fact. Rush is popular in Germany.

I had seen the tv-ad for that hard rock sampler; the few bars of what I heard orf Rush in it did not contradict their being a hard rock band at all,.
And I was certainly not alone in my opinion. Whenever their name way mentioned in my presence they were considered to be a hard rock band.

What is that supposed to mean?= I had heard Genesis and Yes long bedore I heard Rush for the first time, including that bit of an ad, and they   were certainly nnot pop bands then.
Anyway, anyone who is dicsussing this with me should read what I said about Peart earlier. I am not doubring hiws skills az al, I ust doubt "Peart is the überdrummer",skillwise as well as reputationwise. Saying he is the most popular drummer on  the planet is an incredibly keen statement. Why are you Rush fans always so sensitive when someone disagrees about their status as übermuscians? The fans of no other band do that in the first place, or if so very rarely, but with Rush fans  it is almost compulösive.. Accept it, guys: There are musicians who are just as able and acts which are just as popular,.
