Very interesting stuff, nice suggestion. What does "haide" mean? In
Romanian it means "come on", I suppose we borrowed it from a Slavonic
language.

It's a word of Turkish origin (in fact I heard it while listening to some Turkish prog).

Many words in our language(s) are Turkish, Arab and Persian. The perfect examples are the words like rakija.and ćepapčići. A number of our words are German origin, Alot of Italian origin words in Dalmatia and Istra. That's depend on which Empire we were a part.
BTW, I always loved Croatian names for the months - really Slavic names!

You should check, for example, Polish names for the months. They're similar, but they represent different months because in Northern Europe certain plants are blossoming at different time of the year! ![]() |
