I love that Esoteric Circle LP from around '70 or so on Flying Dutchman. I had a ECM double LP awhile ago that wasn't bad, I forget the name of it. He was sitting on the tailgate of a van on the cover, if I recall correctly. | this double album is odissey, it's wellknown but not the best one IMO though i like it

I had that one in LP, but yeah there are better ones in his discography.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Thank you, yes, that's the one. There was one side-long spacey/funk piece that I particularly liked on it.

Got two more Rypdal albums, Skywards which is kind of Descendre follow up, beautiful and Crime Scene, a live one but until today i didn't manage to listen to it from start to finish, a bit too much free to my taste with a lot of sampling....

The Vanguards are one of the most famous norwegian bands from that era (60's), and they were supposedly amazing live. After warming up for Herman's Hermits on one of the latter's concerts on their Scandinavia tour in 67, Herman's Hermits almost didn't dare to enter the scene because The Vanguards had been so great. ^^
