Are they a "signed" band?
I've had a glimpse of their bandcamp, and found their album can be freely downloaded.

Although unsigned bands we cannot add here, I'll check their stuff after work. Thanks a lot.

They appear not to be eligible indeed. The thread should be moved to Unsigned Bands. (Keishiro, when are you becoming Forum Moderator? Wink)

Actually it appeard from the other thread that they have one album for sale, meaning they're eligible. I'll give them a listen in that case.

Good stuff. I'll ask the Eclectic team for an evaluation. The music has avant-prog, space rock and heavy prog qualities at the same time. And some jazzy touches too. Thumbs Up

These guys are the new Xing Sa, just better Wink

^Thanks.

And yeah, they can be fit for Eclectic, and as David (Trouser) has mentioned in another thread, they kicked versatile style in the vein of RIO, especially Samla Mammas Manna / Zamla Mammaz Manna.

What is the issue whether they are signed or not? As long as someone can hear their music...

I was just recommending them for ZART when I saw Eclectic is evaluating. They were not on the chart at ProgFreak, so I entered them. Should I add them as "new band" for Eclec?

I don't think you can, unless you have credentials as Eclectic Team member on Progfreak.

Regardless, I think the ZART could also evaluate Catepillarmen and deal with Eclectic later if they want the band (which they may not, it was just my idea to ask them first). They just put the album out and it would be a shame not to add them as soon as possible. Thumbs Up

Indeed, the word "signed" is antiquated nowadays. As long as they have at least one album, they can be eligible.

With the condition it's not an exclusively free release.

Why does that matter? If the band is progressive, then it doesn't really matter if their album is entirely self-produced or not. Price is irrelevant.

I think the policy makes a lot of sense.

You are correct. I added them to the ZART chart re your recommendation. I wrote to them the other day as I wanted to add them to the Gnosis database, and they said they're releasing another new one soon!

I heard from Ísak again today: their 1st album was released as a [hardcopy] CD by Brak records:
http://brakrecords.com/releases/adopt-a-monkey/

They also sent me their bio: it's two lines. ;) So whenever someone decides to add them, they can get the info from me.
