Could you have picked two songs so wildly different? There's not even a compositional relationship between the two that would allow adequate comparison.

Definitely a strange choice of songs, but The Who get my vote.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Tommorow Never Knows is one of my all time favourite Beatles tunes and is probably the one song that single handely defines what Psychedelic music actually is.
