Since they're my favorite band and don't seem to get a whole lot of attention here, I thought I'd start this thread. What are your Top 10 favorite songs by Procol Harum? Here are mine, but not in order: 1-A Whiter Shade Of Pale 2-Whaling Stories 3-Quite Rightly So 4-In Held 'Twas In I 5-Shine On Brightly 6-Simple Sister 7-Conquistador 8-Repent Walpurgis 9-A Salty Dog 10-As Strong As Samson I welcome your responses.

I don't mind your list but can't see how you could leave out Homburg. | It was difficult to just list 10. Homburg would be number 11, I suppose. It's a great song!

I think they only managed about three quality songs - Whiter Shade; Homburg; Salty Dog, they were goodies though.

whiter shade of pale conquistador (1972 live version) salty dog pilgrim's progress as strong as samson your own choice shine on brightly homburg quite rightly so fires which burnt brightly

Best Procol track is Kaleidoscope.
Pilgrim's Progress is like much of the early work of Jack Bruce - quite unique in composition. You won't find much to compare to it.

The only album I have is the Live With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra but its massive. Love everything on it although I've always had a soft spot for A Salty Dog which of course inspired that album
