I haven't been a fan of the NHL since the early eighties. I couldn't even name a Montreal player if I had a gun held to my head. Maybe Carey Price. I still play pick up but as far as the NHL goes it just doesn't mean anything anymore. I don't even live anywhere near Montreal anymore and have no desire to return.

Oh, you're just still miffed because Montreal can no longer poach the greatest players from Quebec and thus win several Stanley Cups in a row. The league has moved beyond the days of Yvan Cournoyer and Guy Lafleur. |

The spirit of the game has been gone long time ago. Just happy to grow up in Montreal during the seventies when the habs were the habs. When
Now the NHL gliding on distant past glories. It's all about f**king money that's all. I know guys who play in a 50 and older pick up league who play better than any of these overpaid monkeys who call themselves hockey players. I watched a few games and just shook my head and said : " I just I dunno anymore ". My uncle has some videos of old games from the 50s. Before ny time but Hockey was magic back then.

^ Believe that picture was taken in Detroit and originally had a Cup in it. Anyway, not that I care much now, but go Chicago.

?!?!?!?
There was no shortage of concussions back then. The halcyon element for me was that the goalies didn't attach full sofas to their extremities. |

Good point. Before the salary cap the Rangers often tried to buy the championship and failed miserably. The Pens had the best rooster on paper but when the puck hits the ice...

For all the problems people complain about with the NHL, it can at least be said that its not a league where you can 'buy' a championship. Clearly too many egos in one locker room does not chemistry make.

Boy the Bruins have been fierce since their big comeback on my Leafs. And what a save by Chara!! Too bad his teammate (Peverley?) had to knee him in the head right after.
