While I agree Massa shouldn't be demanding things, if, in his mind, he is the #1 driver (and by him saying he won't be a number two I think he is thinking of himself as the #1 guy) expecting the other to move out of the way/not attack isn't outside the lines (from a team orders perspective).

The thing I noticed about Massa in Malaysia is that he wasn't slow, he just wasn't particularly good at overtaking. Both against Magnussen early on and Button at the end, he had one good go at passing then hung back by a second or so for lap after lap, he seemed distinctly toothless in his attack. Bottas, I'm sure, would have done much better in this regard.

Was very impressed with Kobayashi, he spent much of the race mixing it with faster cars.

Indeed.

Ah hell, I ALREADY failed to do better with my Indy watching, missed the very first race :(
Looks like a dominant win from Will Power, and cool to see Sato on pole.
Well, good start to the year...maybe this will finally be Power's year lol prob not

I'm hoping the full race will end up on Youtube soon so I can watch it there.

I think my newly found James Hunt fandom is getting out of control.  I ordered another shirt last night that's almost the same look to the other one I posted, except there's a big '11' on the right sleeve.  LOL

Certainly an intriguing guy to pick!
The only racing garb I had was  Dale Jr shirt, and mainly I wore it to school because it had Budweiser on the back and ya know, rebellious teen LOL

I'm also having a Jenson Button shirt made with the McLaren F1 logo on the front and then a '22' and 'Button' on the back since all of the shirts I found for him are kind of lame.  Too much in the way of the McLaren team and not enough Button.

I'll admit, I didn't know much about James Hunt before Rush came out, but since then, I've watched numerous documentaries on F1 in the '70's and have read up on him and Lauda specifically, and I've been a pretty big fan of his since.  Probably him, Button, Lauda and Raikonnen being my favorites.  I know Hunt only won 10 races and 1 championship, but the fact that he was admired and respected by someone of Niki Lauda's caliber says something.  Also, had McLaren's cars been more competitive after '76, he may have been in the running for more championships, but unfortunately, the timing just wasn't there other than that one season.

He probably would have won the 77 title if the car was reliable, he was certainly the fastest man out there that year, but so many results when begging to mechanical failures. After that it was a case of not enough power against the V12's of Ferrari and Alfa Romeo, not enough downforce against the ground effect Lotus 78 and Goodyear tyres being inferior to Michelins. By 79 it got so bad that Marlboro forced the merger with Ron Denis Project 4 team that was looking to step up to F1 for 80. It's why all McLarens are designated MP4= McLaren Project 4.

Button? Weak
LOL
He seems like a cool guy, I'd rather have a beer with him over Lewis. Funny the 180 I had with those 2.

All I know about Hunt, besides that he was a champion, is that he was famous his rock star life of women, booze, drugs and flamboyance and was Kimi's idol (much to my chargrin, I always thought maybe he under performed due to his life style).  Oh, also back in the day Hunt apparently looked like a Viking godLOL

Actually I know nothing at all about Lauda, just he was a 3 time champ.

Guess I should see Senna and Rush, though IDK how much real info the latter will provide. It seems he was a friendly-rival of Hunt.
Was he into the crazy ass life that Hunt lived as well?

No, Lauda led a very different life, though thats not to say he didn't enjoy himself.

Go see Senna and Rush, you will not regret it.

Mills, have you seen the  3 documentaries on Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart and Jim Clarke from a few years ago, they were made by Mark Stewart (Jackie's son), they're brilliant and show the three champions off brilliantly.

I haven't, but I've heard great things about the Jackie Stewart one (I didn't know about the other two).  They'll be on my list of things to watch now.

There is a documentary I recently watched on YouTube called Champions Forever: The Formula One Drivers, although I think it was originally titled The Quick And The Dead.  It's broken up into two parts, but it focuses on Jackie Stewart, Francois Cevert, Peter Revson and some others.  It came out some time in the 70's and is narrated by Stacy Keach.  Not a bad documentary.

Practice times from Bahrain, I think it's pretty obvious which team is going to win this one. Should be interesting as it's going to be a night race.

I was just about to post and say what an earth is going on re Schumaker......it must be awful for his family. Without sounding negative I wonder how much they are clearly not disclosing?

Terrible.  Guess I shouldn't feel so bad about McLaren being mediocre, although I wish Button were a little more aggressive at times.

Given the extent of the brain injuries he received I don't think it's a surprise that he's taking a long time to wake up so short of giving us detailed medical readouts that most of us wouldn't understand, I don't think there's anything they haven't disclosed, though the family is deliberately keeping information to notable changes to avoid the place becoming a media circus. Lets face it, red top journalists are shameless pieces of trash that would do anything for a story.

Of more interest is the article Dr Gary Hartstein (former F1 doctor) wrote a few weeks ago condemning the Grenoble hospital for mis-handling Schumachers treatment, I wonder what he'd be referring to specifically?
