Interesting band that has a new album coming out soon. Seems the new millennium has been treating them good, they're on a streak of well-received albums.
Which do you prefer most?

Mei for me. I actually hate almost all third-wave prog, but this album somehow appeals to me.

I much prefer their early period. Love the first two album along with Cowboy Poems Free which I voted for. The End Is Beautiful would makeup my top four by them.
Could not get into As The World or MEI at all.

Suffocating The Bloom, just over The End Is Beautiful.
Mei would be a comfortable third.

Mei. Both self titled recordings are good too, first and the last.

Hey, it's me who does the best from polls! Don't steal my practically non-existent thunder!
![]() Just kidding. To be honest I haven't listened to enough of them to know what's my favorite.

So many great albums but I thought the last one was the best thing they've ever released. High hopes for the new one!

An amazing band with a stunning body of work, for the most part very distinctive and at times genius. As The World for me is a classic though, a modern/eclectic prog masterpiece. Mei is an outstanding piece of work but that's the difference for me, it's a piece of work whereas ATW is an album, regardless I'm surprised ATW didn't rank top flight clear winner here, I thought it was 'the one' for most folks! In any case it's the one I'd recommend to an Echolyn novice. Also a mention has to be made to the fantastic title track from The End Is Beautiful. At times the album is a little too alt-blues/country tinged for me but that track is indeed beautiful* especially its infectious chorus melody. The energy and genuine passion they displayed playing that live in London was keepsake memorable. That was a kick ass show, thanks Echolyn, can't wait for the new record, my copy of the signed CD pre-ordered

Mei and ATW.
Looks like I am in good company. I was so excited when ATW came out (20 years ago!!!?!), and on a regular record label, no less! For all the good that did them in the end... |

I'm so surprised that The End is Beautiful has no votes. That is probably one of my most played albums by these guys, if not the most. I was actually disappointed with their most recent self-titled album. Has some fantastic moments and songs, but it becomes way too samey by the second half.
