"Fairy Tales" by Mother Gong is a great album from 1979. Unfortunately there is a flaw in the YouTube version of the longest track "Wassilissa" a certain section appears twice while another is left out. I would mention "Phallus Dei" by Amon Düül 2 as an album that came out the year I was born. Edited by BaldFriede - June 04 2016 at 22:24 |

Well I was like in first grade, but 'You Can't Always Get What You Want', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Midnight Rambler', a little bit of Robert Johnson - what more could you ask for? |

the Beatles' "White Album" (which I consider to be a full-fledged prog album).
other albums worth mentioning would have been Procol Harum's "Shine on Brightly", Iron Butterfly's "In-a-gadda-da-vida", Pink Floyd's "A Saucerful of Secrets", the Grateful Dead's "Anthem of the Sun" (another full-fledged prog album), Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland" or Steppenwolf's first self-titled album |

Interesting choice, in that it is general,y regarded as the weakest of all Yes studio releases. I would suggest a trip to the Prog Archives top albums of that year to expand your horizons a bit. Simply go to too albums of 2015 on the homepage, then use the filter to choose 1997. You will see classics from Radiohead, IQ, Marillion, The Flower Kings, Peter Hamill, to name but a few. All of them are vastly superior to what was supposed to be a Chris Squire and Billy Sherwood collaboration, but ended being a springboard for renewed Yes activity, and was, in truth, extremely poor. Do you have any other Yes albums? |

You have selectively quoted my post. I would have thought it fairly obvious that my entire post was not intended to harass a 19 year old enthusiast, but to provide her with my considered opinion and advice on how to expand her horizons. Don't be so f**king rude. |
