EFL for me as well. Love that almost rodent-like energy there is to them.

EFL leading 8 to 3 - that won't last

Although I was tempted to vote for Rush I won't vote for either because I don't know Etron Fou Leloublan.

The outsider should normally win these polls (unless the biggie is perennial poll winner Camel that is) because... chances are who doesn't like EFL will not know them and not vote. But many will know Rush and not like them.
(There's still a chance that Rush fans who don't know EFL will flood this but it hasn't happened quite yet...) |

How about RUSH IN RIO -- best of both worlds. ;) -------------------------------------------------- Two bands that I was into at different periods of my life, and neither of which I had listened to much for a decade-plus. I was tempted to vote or Rush as it's more memorable to me (have Subdivisions stuck in my head), had a bigger impact on me, and EFL was my least liked RIO band, even though I still liked EFL -- by RIO band, I mean the eight bands that played in those two festivals during the 70s, rather than wider views of RIO. Not remembering EFL so well, I got out my albums that I haven't played for ages (still liked the band enough to get four EFL albums). I recalled how much I used to like the debut, Batelages. It's the band's lowest rated album, but it resonates the most with me. Before re-listening to that, I was thinking that I would probably end up voting for Rush. Although Rush can sound too clinical, sterile, and mechanical to me, I've thought EFL too inelegant for me with it's crazy flourishes, and it's punky and improv-jazz sounding qualities. The instrumentation of EFL is more my thing than Rush. Anyway, interesting bands to contrast, and glad to be reminded of EFL. Edited by Logan - February 17 2017 at 12:43 |

I would like to commend the OP for having a great sense of humor! I was lucky enough to see EFL in Manhattan once in '84 as a quartet with, IIRC, Jo and Bruno Mellier. Alas, being a dreaded Newbie, I can't vote but I treasure the memory of that show. I can't honestly say that I recall ever hearing anything by Rush. My tastes are strictly RIO/Avant.
