What make you confident that Fox News is a reliable source?
I'd rather get my news from a variety of sources, but I do favour print over TV generally.

You won't be surprised to hear I only watch Fox News - the Real News Network. I can't even trust the left-wing biased BBC any more since President Trump got elected. That's why I stopped wasting my money on the BBC TV license fee.  |

All of those Fake News networks you mentioned, NBC, CBS, ABC & CNN don't hide the fact that they have a biased anti-Trump agenda, so how could I possibly believe anything I hear on those liberally biased "news" networks!?

Yes. Spot on. But it's more than that. It's an addiction. They crave their daily anti-Trump fake news fix. Trump want's peace, they want war. Trump lowers taxes, they want higher taxes. Trump wants immigration regulated, they want open borders. If Trump was pro oxygen, the anti-Trump-crowd would hold their breath. They're so confused, that their willing to vote for candidates who support Federal Funds for Pregnant Men's abortions. Anti-Trumpers recoil from truth like vampires shunning sunlight. They resort to claiming they know President Trump's inner thoughts. It's a sickness. They've been fooled into relinquishing their liberty for a daily fake news fix. I feel sorry for them.

interesting side discussion.. 'make Germany great again'.. amazing how little people really know of their history.. or facts but ignoring that for a bit. I riffed earlier in one of Paul's threads about the parallels between where we are now and where Germany was in the early 30's.
the blame game... be it Jews.. or Hispanics.. all the same.. boogymen and with them comes fear. But fear has a funny side effect.
See one of my passionate interests has been history.. was since I was a child and I learned of my family and how and why they came to this country. From eastern Europe just fleeing the whirlwind that swept it and killed ten's of millions and the village my family came from here.. wiped comp;letely from the map.. lost to time.. one of hundreds.. thosands of such.
so where am I going with this... indulge me.. as I grab a fresh beer and have a smoke before continuing... for it is personal.. as I've alluded to before...

debated how deep to go while taking 10 more minutes off of my life..
could have really gone deep into this.. but I'll keep it (relatively) short. What is not really known.. or perhaps understood is what Hitler and the Nazi's did was not just blame Jews.. blame only goes so far.. it was weaponized in the form of something that combat veterans understand all too well
hatred and then dehumanization.. easy to understand... it is much easier to kill when you see your target as ... well ... not human.
The Germans wrote the textbook on that on the national level in the 30's.. and we are exactly on the same path.. though thankfully constrained by our system and the differences that do exist from likely going any further. the fact they are so similar such give such pause to Americans. and it does to some.. but not enough..
There and then and slowly over a decade brainwashing otherwise good honest, deeply religious people with not merely a hatred of Slavic sub-species or Jews or simply.. those NOT them... but a complete lack of association of humanity with them. It is something that every military teaches their soldiers to a certain point... and it works to a certain degree I suppose. it does make it earlier though. Even if it might not stop the nightmares from coming later.
but to keep it short.. what worries me most about the rise of Trump.. well not really that.. it is his supporters.. are they could be taken completely right from that time frame. Seemingly zero lack of humanity or compassion for those different.
I see them post numbers and statistics of what Trump supposed has done since taking office.. but at what cost. Yes.. there is a cost.. their souls.. their humanity. We lock those different from us in cages for no other crime than wanting a better life.. we encourage those who aren't exactly stable of mind (ie many a Trump supporter seemingly) to think it right to kill hispanics and with a President who not merely condones it.. encourages it.
What we see now is bad enough.. in only a couple of years.. thus my completely on the mark post earlier that if our system was less solid, our checks and balances less concrete, that with another decade of brainwashing.. another decade of stirring hate and blame.. we in this country would likely find our selves exactly where Germany did and tossing those different into the incerators all while praising God and chanting America over All....

About this Germany thing in the 30s, it's actualle very simple: the nazis were able to promise and then deliver a strong economy in a time of great recession. In return the population supported them and turned a blind eye to everything else they were starting to do from the mid to end 30s. Seem familiar?
Anyway, I was going to say something else: why are the democrats so stupid? Trump has been out of the gate and running for months now, going on one rally after the other and building his profile, while the dems are still deciding who should at some distant point start to join the race. What are they hoping for? The hare and the tortoise?
As an outsider I can only sit here and wonder what the hell they're thinking. It's still a ways to go, but not all that long. Even natural selection doesn't seem to phase them: he of the heart attack and the one with the exploding eyeball are still valiantly limping along, but Jeez! They should just get out of the way, just as the 2 percenters should.
The eyeballed one's son is not helping either, although I admit I'm a bit jealous. I wish I could get a job that pays millions with a CV consisiting of a birth certificate with my father's name circled in red ink.
Aah, now I feel better.

It's funny you should say that, because President Trump said at one of his recent tremendous rallies that if he didn't want to build a wall on the US-Mexico border, then the Democrats WOULD want to build a wall, just to oppose him. In fact, Hillary was all in favour of securing the border and building a wall before President Trump was elected......... ""I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in," Clinton told an audience at a campaign stop Nov. 9, 2015. "And I do think you have to control your borders."

short answer re: the Democratic party. Again.. I feel as if this has been discussed enough in these pages.. plus of course playing out right in front of your eyes to reinforce what has been written here.
The Democratic Party is not the Republican Party.. not in many ways .. but most importantly in one very important aspect. It is a broad coalition.. with a lack of a defining and thus UNITING ideology. Oh they are united to beat Trump.. and that is why he will with a very high of degree of probability...lose..40ish odd % gets you massacred/Mondale'd in a general election...and that even assumes this Ukraine affair and since it is getting worse for him.. not better.. I think he has no better than a 50-50 shot of surviving the Senate to even be around this time next year and not beginning his course to a jail cell.. likely with Guilliani.....but as many know.. and again ..repeated here MANY times.
it isn't enough to beat or succeed Trump.. the process as you are seeing it is not merely to select who will beat likely beat Trump.. but to deal with problems that Trump has brought on.. problems also that predate Trump.. but also in many ways gave rise to him.. and the fear and hatred of those that support him.
