At least I'm halfway there because I own the first five albums on the list.

I voted for days of future passed. It was one of the first albums of it's kind and is more or less the springboard from which the later bands emerged. Plus it has a cool concept: the day in the life of an ordinary man.

Thick As A Brick is one of the best/best examples of prog there is, so...

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

I don't have the SB, Phideaux, or Dear Hunter; they're all ones I would like to have though....

I'll go for Snow just because I've been listening to it whilst driving recently.

The Human Equation is my favorite from this list followed by Snow and The Wall. All of them are pretty good albums though I'm not really as big of a fan of Thick as a Brick and the Lamb as other PA users are.

For me it's between Genesis, Tull, Floyd, DT and Phideaux...
Because of the great DT concert here in Santiago a few days ago, the vote is for Metropolis, pt.2

I voted TAAB but agree with you about 3 of those 4. I haven't heard Subterranea but have had a lot of trouble getting into IQ

TAAB. The music undoubtedly, but as a concept, the fake English town newspaper with its outlandish village characters e.g. Gerald Bostock, Max Quad, Derek Small, etc and ridiculous stories, anecdotes, the births, deaths and marriages page, the crossword (that is unsolvable), the "childrens'" join-the-dots activity, the classified ads, the "sports" section, etc, definitely gets it over the line. As we all know, the cover and its contents took longer to make than the actual music! |
