DeepTracks on SiriusXM will be playing the top 30 classic prog albums as voted by listeners over Labor Day weekend 2020. The list they have populated contains many of the classics, but there are many missing as well. There is an "Other" field where you can input your own.
I input Harmonium's En Pleine Face in the "Other" field. It would be really neat hearing that over the radio. |

If they really wanted to do the most essential albums ever they would have at least a few post 80's albums on the list instead of something like "the pros and cons of hitchhiking." Seriously.

Also, I could be wrong but I don't think there is a self title Rick Wakeman album.

Funny because I voted for Pros and Cons only because I love the album and think it’d be sick to hear them play the whole thing. DeepTracks only plays the title track from the album on their channel (which isn’t even a deep track), so this would make up for that.

^ I own pros and cons on cd. I bought it for five dollars somewhere. I have to say in all honesty I found it pretty boring. Maybe it's one of those grower albums?

Some less than reputable choices in there.
I too utilized the other tab as well.

Well, they aren't typically considered prog. I don't think Led Zeppelin were listed either.

U made me 'raff out loud ......Everyone here considers them prog. My point is that other than this site, nobody considers them prog, which is accurate. I also used the "other" option.

Not enough Italian prog

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Nope. No modern prog either. I think it's obvious to most of us that those who made this list don't have a very deep knowledge of the genre.

I bought it when it was released and...honestly I' don't think it's a grower. It is what it is and if you have found it boring you'll find it boring forever even if it has some good moments.

The poll specifically says classic prog albums. The station that is doing this is DeepTracks which plays non-mainstream “classic” rock tracks (it has its faults but it’s easily the best station on SiriusXM). Edit: For some reason they took out the word “classic” on the webpage even though the ad for it on the station says “classic albums” all day long. Edited by POTA - August 19 2020 at 20:51 |

Of all the Pink Floyd related stuff, it's the one I spin the less. I can listen to it, I don't dislike it but effectively "boring" quite defines it. And consider that I love The Final Cut.

Well I voted for the obvious ones and added Misplaced Childhood as my 'Other' option. The lack of IQ (or post 80's prog) doesn't bother me. If you frame the choice as 'essential' then it's fair not to include them even if I do love them personally.
