It's good to see Aussie-Byrd-Bro jumping back in with a good one on Steve Roach. I hope he's weathered the fires and virus that have plagued the land down under.

Hey, Mr Dachshund, how you been? Thank you. Yes, I've been AWOL from the Archives for several months (now that I look at it, most of the year ), just sorting through some things. Essentially a nasty mess of a relationship breakdown, an extreme virus lockdown here in Melbourne Australia (which has just eased a little a couple of days ago, but it lasted months), as well as having to try to start working from home. Definitely not too inspiring to try to enjoy music. Good times! But I hope you and yours are alright, mate

All's good my friend. Hang in there. We all go through rough patches form time to time, but it gets better eventually.

I, Saint Paul, would like to ask someone else (other than me) to review Bossk's Audio Noir album. Bossk are a post metal band from Kent, where I live, and I recently added their 2016 debut Audio Noir to the database (for some reason it wasn't there). They're a good band, very underappreciated at this site, especially as they're famous enough to have a Wikipedia page. | Looks like it's just me reviewing that album. Oh well.

All in good time. Things move slowly here. I suggested an artist that was added about 5 yeas later!! So you're ahead of the game.

I enjoyed BrufordFreak's review of the Santana/McLaughlin colab and his interesting trip down memory lane with record collecting. And it's not everyday that someone mentions the Columbia Record Club or Don Kirchner's Rock concert in a prog review. Good stuff Drew.

Steve G’s review of Islands.
Starkly honest, and whose rating I disagree with, as this album has become one of my favourites in recent years. In the past, I would have agreed with Steve, but a reappraisal has led to my loving it.
However, this is a fine review. Reviewers should never be afraid of open and honest appraisal, and this is a really good example.

Fine review, indeed. I fully agree with his review but I never could put it into words like he did. I keep trying again from time to time but I space out easily.

Thanks guys. Islands was a hard one for me, but I can easily understand why others like it. Perhaps if it was an album recorded by someone else of less stature than KC, I would have been knocked out. But "would of and could of" can't change your perceptions, I'm afraid. Too bad really, as I could enjoy many more albums in my collection.

A really nice run of eclectic albums over the past few days. I enjoyed the Horte review by Damo. He said once that he wasn't too sure of his English. He must have been joking! Aussie-Byrd man with German space rockers Zone Six and JavaJeff on the new Crippled Black Phoenix. All stellar. Forgive me if I missed a few names. You were all appreciated.

I enjoyed BrufordFreak chopping down the debut by Grumblewood. Vocals mean a lot to me with prog folk and weak heavily reverbed lead vocals are off putting to me too, so Drew really hit the nail on the head for me. The review of the songs and their multi influences was excellent. And how often does BF give 3 star reviews? I'm really impressed that he went out of his comfort level on this one. Edit: After rereading the review, I think the 3 star rating was an error. Oh, well. Still good stuff.

Thanks Steve for your kind words, I'm going to write more and more reviews in my "joking" English.

A very good in-depth review by Progaardvark on Mason's Saucerful of Secrets Live CD/DVD, with an excellent back story of Mason and the band. Bravo.

A nice run of reviews lately to breakup the covid boredom by Ken Levine, ViennaProgHead and Rivertree with her always obscure but fascinating European prog artist reviews. And kudos to a chap named Lupton who had a nice run of Barkley James Harvest reviews about a half week ago.

Made me go back and listen to it again in its entirety. Thank you
