One of the craziest B-movies that I've seen is "The Stuff". A movie about an alien substance sold as ice cream. Another very bad movie is Adrenaline with Cristopher Lambert. A sort of monser hunting in the subterraneans of buildings connected by galleries. Totally dark. It could have been put on radio. On the good side, very disturbing and challenging, everything by Alejandro Jodorowski. Immortal Ad Vitam by Enki Bilal is very particular, but one that I really loved was Dersu Uzala by Akira Kurosawa. A long movie full of adventure and open spaces in the frozen Siberia. But the absolute unique masterpiece is 2001 a space odissey. There has never been another SciFi movie like that. I have discovered Ligeti thanks to Kubrick (and he wanted to use also Atom Heart Mother for the soundtrack but was denied by Waters)

Love In The City (1953) I just saw this three days ago.. Probably the best movie I've seen this year. It's sort of a fictional documentary, with voice-over, and segments (anthology) by directors like Antonioni, Fellini, and the great writer Zavattini... Basically centers around young women going through problems - suicide, prostitution, love troubles, poverty. I'd love to see more of these.. The only other "fictional documentary" I can think of is "The Connection" made almost a decade after, directed by Shirley Clarke.

If something is unique, it is unique. There's nothing like "the most unique"...
Oops, sorry. I wasn't serious at all. Magus (2008) has a "unique" wizard battle. At least, I haven't seen something similar in any movie. Believe me, I've watched tons of movies with wizards in it. ![]() Two wizards... One of them is purely evil, the other is achingly good... Guess who won? ![]() Good luck with "finding" the movie, though. Edited by Shadowyzard - May 22 2021 at 09:24 |

Actually, the greatest wizard's battle scene is from Ralph Bakshi's animated film Wizards (1977). If you haven't seen it, the scene is priceless and shocking.

^ Yup. Agreed. I didn't say the one I mentioned is the greatest, but I saw nothing similar to that.
Wizards (1977) is a real treat. |

Let's add Dark City (1998) to the list. It wears its influences quite obviously on its sleeve, but it's very much an "open to the viewer's interpretation" film.
