It may be Springtime here in England, but it's still Mostly Autumn in the southern hemisphere, and on that note, here's Mostly Autumn's Complete Discography (mostly), apart from one or two missing bootleg albums. 1998: For All We Shared - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEZZGWIfFT6kVSIhBY4ZgDEL 1999: The Spirit of Autumn Past - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbiPd8jMGas61uXd4LOznPi 2001: The Last Bright Light - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbvBIUnq5y_UDBjPmi9FJhC 2001: Music Inspired by The Lord of the Rings - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbyF28C2EYG0kHXkFh6grhA 2001: The Story So Far - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEZGhG71Phkf_dcAvkiqwqH- 2003: Passengers - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEaCQOCMBGAFozb7EQvId7Oa 2003: The Next Chapter - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbmJ0gkAsWw-qijzdzn2I7A 2003: Live at the Grand Opera House - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEZprsagIiCElxZkWDQ26Mos 2004: The "V" Shows - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbf1-0xkGjrqWNY2tj8MN12 2004: Pink Floyd Revisited - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEZJvg6ykEsII2xZDyerU_wK 2005: Storms Over Still Water - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbpbrV-OC1jpCSZCQ8pmmM2 2006: Heart Full of Sky - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbzEGM5N74-dFh2cfhiNzWa 2008: Glass Shadows - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYVtRu54s7ZRVKbZ0YLWYau 2009: Live 2009 - Part I - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYNCZ3x5s3r3QPVy2guCCNp 2009: Live 2009 - Part II - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEaEsVA3Wyn88JARGwQx_3zT 2010: That Night in Leamington - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEZXiAFbgjZRyxTS_O5mysf0 2010: Go Well Diamond Heart - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbB4VQCQ1otAByVsr84oUX3 2011: Still Beautiful - Live - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbR9agKM6mRBncmPr3NKO3c 2011: Live at High Voltage - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYtkZPlBp1fb7JbnA1a0h0z 2012: The Ghost Moon Orchestra - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbOga6VYzuPvS1YEClVEX4L 2013: Live at the Boerderij - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEbJ27ZaTZ06zADFuBiSEoxw 2014: Dressed in Voices - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYGB1ySTx5btuFKU8NyAq-5 2015: Box of Tears - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYvJZvjmtdNPgUI0OPuXLpl 2017: Sight of Day - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYb5zkWi3lW3fpB8kxEPOoQ 2019: White Rainbow - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdktF-lL0yEYS1FQj-rj1KtgixMRIh_c2 |

Hmmm...5 stars on all of them..?
I looked them up here ,13 lp's, and only the newest one managed to barely get 4 stars by the PA ratings...I can't say I own a single one ,but playing some of the clips I find them pleasant. |

I knew I'd probably get criticised for giving all of Mostly Autumn's albums a full 5-star rating, but I honestly couldn't give any of their superb albums (both live & studio) any less than the full 5-star treatment, seeing as they're my favourite band. It's hard to choose a favourite album as I love them all. There's an interesting change of direction too with their new singer (Olivia Sparrnenn), where some of their more recent albums are bordering on Progressive Metal.

Mostly Not. Good band, but please.

^ Mostly Autumn mostly sound like Pink Floyd on their Pink Floyd Revisited album.

Well, they're better than Greta Van Fleet but they're no Pink Floyd.

Well, that's three thumbs down for Mostly Autumn so far today, so it looks like I'm mostly outnumbered.

That's a pretty big range but that sums it up pretty much. Would I turn it off if it came on? No probably not. Would I go to explore the band more based on hearing it? No probably not.

That evens the score at three-all then, as GeekFreak is known to be a big fan of Mostly Autumn too. I don't feel so outnumbered now.

I think the 'Is This the new Pink Floyd?' tag damaged their credibility a bit. And I'm inclined to blame that record company they were with at the time. Classic Rock Productions tried to push them as being Floydian. But they were more than that. I can hear influences of All About Eve, Deep Purple, Camel and Fleetwood Mac etc. And I do like bands where the lead vocals are shared. That is reminiscent of Floyd, Queen, Gong And Fleetwood Mac. Bryan Josh is a great songwriter and guitarist. And there is very much light and shade in their music.

for a newcomer to tjhe band, I'd recommend Passengers as being their most accessible album. It's probably their most commercial sounding record as well.

Light and Shade would be a great name for Mostly Autumn's next album, considering how versatile they are. I thought it was only me who suggested they're the new Pink Floyd. It's good to know I'm not the only one who can hear the strong resemblance across all of their albums, and not just on their Pink Floyd Revisited album. The vocals of Bryan Josh even remind me of David Gilmour at times, and Mostly Autumn have the added benefit of female vocalists too.

If Mostly Autumn is the new Pink Floyd then who is the old Pink Floyd?

I guess the old Pink Floyd would be the Syd Barrett era.

To be honest I've not heard loads of Mostly Autumn, I need to do some more listening. What I've heard of them is good but not 5-star, but then there is no band/artist in the world who I would give 5 stars to all their albums, not even The Beatles or Kate Bush. Nobody is that consistently good.

Paul is positively American in all his overhyping.
