Birds. I think it's the more akin to the prog-rock spirit.

really hard choices.. Bruford / Holdworth and now this..
Had to go with Birds of Fire, strictly for the spiritual aspect of it.  Musically both the same, neither surpasses the other for me.

Return To Forever  Romantic Warrior was a breath of fresh air when it came out. Great combo of musicians.

I like both equally, for very different reasons, but I enjoy them both the same.

I enjoy the fusion flavor of the past ten years as much as these ancient artifacts. LOL However, my vote goes to RTF by a wide margin.

RTF's RW. The first fusion album I fell in love with.

I can't handle the synths on Romantic Warrior, besides Birds of Fire is more my style.

Birds.

The guitar, the guitar, the guitar.. important album for me; the raw and fierce jazz guitar.

So give me the McLaughlin - Cobham duo on this one.

Needs a "both" option. Wink

If the RTF choice was Where Have I Known You Before then it would be much easier.

Romantic Warrior shreds harder, courtesy of Al Di Meola. Birds Of Fire is incredible too, but it's more abstract. I guess I just dig more conventional fusion.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Just to add a bit of context to the quote, you posted "I don't care for either song, personally!" in one of my polls and I long have wanted to use it.  The addition of the exclamation mark to conclude the tautology made it rather unusual and very memorable to me.
