Zoot - Eleanor Rigby

Second vote for Spooky Tooth's 'I Am the Walrus'
I'm guitarist and songwriter for the prog-related band Mother Bass. Find us at http://www.motherbass.com. I also enter stages throughout the Netherlands performing my poetry.

Voted for Deep Purple for making Help into the blues song it should have been. Btw, Eight Days by Procol Harum is the worst Beatles cover I've ever heard.
This message was brought to you by a proud supporter of the Deep State.

I like Zappa's Walrus. I would have added some Joe Cocker to the lot with Roy Buchanan's While My Guitar Gently Weeps
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I'm not sure about this bunch, but I love Rick Wakeman's take on Eleanor Rigby. Oh yeah, and Joe Cocker's version of With a Little Help from my Friends is a classic, perhaps even more so than The Beatles original one.

In the poll I quite like Gryphon's take on Mother Nature's Son

Other favorites are:

The Carpenters - Ticket to Ride (I much prefer it to the original)
Danielle Dax - Tomorrow Never Knows
Laibach - Across the Universe
Herbie Mann - Flying and Norwegian Wood

Another vote for Spooky Tooth's version of 'I Am The Walrus'......definitive imho.
An underated band that had some very good early 70's lps.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.
