Singing about Santa is more believable than singing about an imaginary being that rose from the dead and ascended up to the sky. LOL Songs that are written about that topic stay in church. Songs about Chocolate are more fun.

Anyway, Zappa of course, Alberto Rigoni (new to me), Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Zero Hour.
I guess that was kind of a dumb comment since there is a whole Church industry out there that sings Easter Hymns and Psalms all throughout the year and there are Christian music stations and artists.

I was thinking more along the lines of mainstream stations stopping playing their regular fare in order to play Christmas music 24/7, the day after Halloween.  Other than "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" I can't think of very many Easter songs for mainstream consumption.  Anyhow, no matter, I have includes songs about a bunny, a rabbit, an egg, and chocolate in my playlist, so Happy Easter to all and to all a good night!

PFM.......Mahavishnu.........and XTC, a band that is not on PA as prog related but should be. A simply wonderfully creative world of clever artsy pop rock that blooms into prog rock at times.  Smile

Handel - La Resureccione, but that's not prog. From the list, Queen's Jesus.

Happy Easter! Heart JESUS

My favourite is "Easter" by Marillion. Kind of crazy that "Season's End" for me has been like a fine wine as my appreciation has grown for it over the years until it's now my second favourite Marillion album after "Misplaced Childhood". The connection to this album is strong for a lot of reasons.

I found an egg! It was hidden in the playlist... It's actually a watermelon disguised like an egg...

Otherwise, my eggs go to Saga - the whole Generation 13 album was an excellent return to form for the group, and The Cross is a great song, although I prefer the studio version over this live version - and to the Hot Club of Detroit and their very pleasant Puck Bunny.

Easter by Marillion.
One of the most beautiful and most meaningful songs ever written.

Other than XTC I was sticking to bands on PA, and there is an argument to be made that XTC could be included.  I learned of them via PA discussions.  At any rate, I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

How about this one:

For anyone who celebrated Passover for the two previous nights (not prog, but Billy Joel does rock).

Nice one. I'd vote for Patti Smith, iconic track this, but I don't like "other" options, so I end up voting for: Robert Fripp? Saga? Kate Bush? Mr. Bungle? I tend to say I'm not a fan of "The Red Shoes" but my experience is that pretty much every track there is worthwhile if I let it grow. Mr. Bungle has maybe the best album here but today I don't feel like it. The Saga track is really great, but as a lover of experimental music I'll go for Robert Fripp here. Very well done, and very special. (Just saw we have three votes, so also Saga and Kate Bush.)
