The first in A long-running series of over forty polls starting from the year 1980 thru' to 2022! ! It's anyone's guess who's going to win this poll. It could be Anyone's Daughter. I don't wish to make Permanent Waves, but I could hazard a guess at the most likely winner. Knowing my luck though, that would doom them to lose and that wouldn't be cricket. I'll See You Later, Back at the Pavilion, and remember, these ephemeral prog polls are Never for Ever.

Some serious contenders here but I went for Hawkwind's last, great album but I love 'Tangram', saw Peter Gabriel tour that album before it was released and I never underestimated the Dan!

From this list I picked Yes, but my favorite from 1980 is Present's Triskaïdékaphobie.

I followed Cristi's advice by only including the albums I know in the poll which means, unluckily for some, that Present aren't present in this poll.

You have enough albums listed there to make another 1980 prog poll.

Brutal, BRUTAL poll!!
A lot of favorites here. Multiple coin tosses, and Drama won, with a field populated by RRUUSSHH, Mr. Gabriel, APP, Mike Rutherford, Anyone's Daughter and Genesis.

Voted for Drama, a real bounceback after the disappointing Tormato and the band found the right way to update their sound for the eighties without losing their "Yes-ness".

I only know two albums on your list and it comes down to a choice between Between and Blue Oyster Cult..... I'll go with Between for a change.

It's a choice for me between Anyone's Daughter, Asia Minor or The Enid. I'll wait and see how the rest of the voting goes though before I cast my vote.

I could vote for Eloy, Tangerine Dream, Sky, Kate Bush here, the Anyone's Daughter, Hackett, and Bowie albums are also great, with some more good ones in the mix. Will make my mind up and throw my vote in later.

For me, Gabriel wins this.
Gabriel>Genesis>Yes I have most of these records, and enjoy them all. Those three are ones I still listen to regularly. However, "Gaucho" for me was a big let down when it first came out. How could it not be, after the amazing untouchable "Aja."
