I like Tales from Topographic Oceans too, even though I haven't yet got around to buying the album, mainly because you never see YES albums at charity shops or car boot sales. The way Rick Wakeman describes TFTO though, it's more like Tales from Soporific Oceans. Smile

Several of my favorites here - ELP, Genesis, Wakeman, Camel, Renaissance, yet my vote went for the controversial Tales From Topographic Oceans. It is one of the few albums proggers criticize for the pieces being too long (thanks to RW), but I like the expansiveness of it all. And I have read some of the shastras, which inspired it.

Same here. I'd never even listened to a Genesis album before going online in 2010, but I bought nearly every album by Camel and Renaissance in the 1970's. Embarrassed

The tough choice here is between ELP and Genesis - I went with the latter purely because of 'first love' - a magical album I first heard when I was 12.  Very marginal...
