So I broke my ribs at work last week giving me some extra time at home to do stuff. This is the second time I've done this as I broke both sides of my rib cage snowboarding some 15 to 20 years ago. No I don't wish this on anyone.LOL
In my pursuit of finishing my "best of" lists for the different sub-genres I had to deal with Crossover not knowing if I even wanted to a list. That is until I scanned some of the bands and albums included here and decided to do one adding some Prog-Related and Proto-Prog in there too. Mostly commercial sounding music I suppose with some sentimental picks too from yours truly.
Those would be ken Baird's beautiful and fragile Martin Road and from Argentina Bauer and their Radiohead-like record.
Picking Your Wilderness though for being very personal to me.
Oh so three polls of ten albums total coming up worth 30 albums. These are some of the lowest rated sub-genres in my collection but some gems here.

The first three are my favorites here.
Voted for the argentinians Bauer, which probably won't get much votes. This album reminds a lot to Radiohead.

This was the surprise of this poll that The Dark Third is right at the top. Jared too eh? I still remember the harmonies being what made this record different for me at the time.
On my copy there's a sticker "Evidence mounting that we are on the brink of a new prog age, and (PRR are) London's own mini Floyd." The Guardian. Some other quotes too on that sticker.

What an ambitious release and the jazz elements we get through that King Crimson blender are great. Fairly heavy this album. Saw the tour in Toronto with Marco on drums.

Man this one came from left field when I first heard it. Loved the energy and the talent on display. I knew Avalon at the time from the radio so this was quite the surprise just how raw it was. I knew this one would get some votes.

Shocked to see a vote for Bauer and yes very Radiohead-like and singing in Spanish and it's the vocals that impress and it's a concept album but man this is great instrumentally. I have always had a soft spot for this one and just was never able to get into their other records.

I always had a thing for that Deadwood Forest album probably the mellotron but some good lyrics and Mattias Olsson produced it and added some of his own drum work. He was there in Texas with the band and also mixed the record.

Magical Mystery Tour

Although I like the following Tragical History Tour piggy ditty even more than "I am the Walrus"

The Beatles were good, the Rutles, gods! :p
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.
