I voted for Fates Warning...they created a timeless album.
That said, I love 'OK Computer' as well.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

IMHO the greatest moment in IQ's history. and they had many, many great moments.
I feel sorry to leave behind great stuff like Stardust, OK Computer, and This Strange Engine though. Honestly, I glommed on to those much later after their release. Subterranea just mesmerized me for months.

Fish, DT and Marillion also released quite neat albums that year, but again - Unfolded is absolutely flawless in my book

I bet Discipline could only wish that they would have an album as influential, impactful, and inspiring as OK Computer. I also think it quite timeless, and it is an album that I believe will still hailed as a masterpiece and referenced by many in forty years, whereas Discipline I think just will be more of a footnote in much more niche circles. If we survive as a civilization, that is. I don’t think popularity equals quality, but I do believe that that RH achieved both popularity and quality. Of course it can just be about individual taste, but meh is not a word I would associate with the album. Edited by Logan - July 02 2023 at 13:33 |

Magellan - Test of Wills, such an overlooked album and band, really, I am still in shock after all these years by the tragedy ended the brothers Gardner, specially Wayne Gardner, sad story Keep them in mind for the music of Magellan

Speaking of Magellan: Savatage's album The Wake of Magellan is incredibly underrated and one of their best albums overall ![]() (and the reason I'm bringing it up is because it was released in 1997!)

Subterranea by miles.
But it interests me how OK Computer divides opinion, like marmite. I absolutely hate it, as do several of my friends, but some love it. I've rarely come across anyone who is indifferent to it.
