The moderators won't let me suggest new bands. I wanted to suggest another Italian band- Klidas.  Mellow VDGG meets KC.  The last band the Moderators let me suggest was Caligonaut.

I just listened to Klidas the other day. I'll bring this group to the attention of the RPI team. Thanks.

This is welcome, but I have, in fact, alerted the RPI team to Massimo's work. The problem we have here is that the suggestion is stuck in Crossover, for two reasons, namely Keishiro no vote, and the fact that Evolver does not appear to be active.

The sensible solution, IMHO, is to move this suggestion to RPI for them to decide.

This entire episode does NOT reflect well on PA Ouch

EDIT - sorry, you were talking about Klidas - never mind, my comments still hold relevance!

Good morning to all of you and thank you for your kind consideration. I realize that mine is not an easy album to "categorize" and place in a well-defined genre also because the thing is intentional and of which I am very proud of. I am at your complete disposal for further clarification. Good morning

^ Greg, I am sure that Massimo will appreciate your explanation.

I do think that where you as admins have an inactive team member, Evolver in this case, then you change the rules to perhaps either take a majority of the active members (it is 2-1 yes), or simply add somebody to the team?

You have stated yourself that band addition suggestions are on the wane. It is hardly surprising, really. The key here is that we have an extremely passionate artist who believes that his music should fit on PA and he wants people reviewing his music here. In Thomas, we have an SC who wants to review his music. Why not make him an honorary, temporary, member of the team for the purposes of this addition?

Just a couple of thoughts.

Thanks Mr. Pieretti. That bandcamp page is where I listened to the music before but I just did not have the opportunity to give it a proper listen at the time. I will at some time for my own interest. I was rushing bit to answer tszirmay despite not being on the team or being the voter (I often hope to catch people while still online) and had to rush out. What I meant was that it didn't quickly strike me as music that is obviously, no-brainer, Prog. Often for that I look to the epic length tracks, and this is different. Swans for instance often is not called Prog but they have very long tracks, and it's hardly the only measure (bands like Gentle Giant tend to have shorter tracks). Maybe if I were familiar with Tony Banks solo work (he is in Crossover) then I would have heard the relations more -- so much comes down to our associations, and that's a reason why often there is disagreement. As a concept album, I know that such things should be listened to in full and judged in full. Mostly I was interested to know where this might be considered to better fit than Crossover if not having a move vote seems odd. As mentioned, two people on Crossover voted thinking that is the best category, and a move vote commonly means you think it right for PA but better for another category (unsure is another, and sometimes people abstain). Crossover seems a much better place than Eclectic, RPI or Symph, Or Neo-Prog to my listening, not Zeuhl, RIO/Avant, Canterbury, Krautrock (those are the categories I know best) and Prog Related is a different ballgame with lots of different requirements (not just about the music, but influence, Prog personnel relations, and various criteria to consider). By the way, perhaps most of my favourite modern music is not in PA but could loosely fall into the Crossover Prog family.
And it is unfortunate that things stall when people go on hiatus/ are inactive for extended periods, and I had brought that up officially. Often it doesn't matter if things take longer -- this project is going on a year old -- but of course some are aching to write reviews. And I know that if I'm planning to add a band/artist, if it takes months to approve, then I have lost the passion commonly to do the work, and to me that is work, of addition. For an artist, of course, I'm sure it can be very satisfying to see oneself included and one does not like to be on tenterhooks biting ones nails for months (okay, hyperbole perhaps, and depends on the artist). By the way, I still do think it would be beneficial to try to add some tags and maybe review at rateyourmusic in the meantime. And if somebody like Anthony Fantano discovers and likes it (just as an example as a name that I know), that's gold....

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

What potential genre other than Crossover would you see it in? From what I heard it would be a Crossover or bust proposition. It did not strike me as a strong case as a progressive rock project from my perhaps too limited listening (I did not play the full album). That's by the by, as I have no say in it. By the way, I went to rateyourmusic and noticed that there are no genre labels for the project, might want to try to get that rectified (after all, that is a much bigger and more significant site than this one). https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/massimo-pieretti

Not even a move to another genre within PA ? Very odd .

The latest on this saga is that there are two votes in favour, and one against.

The suggestion is awaiting the verdict of Scott (Evolver). The problem there is I do not think he is particularly active at the moment.

This sorry tale has convinced me more than ever that the addition policy on this site is in dire need of a thorough overhaul.
