1981: Quite possibly the worst year ever for prog, but 1984 was a very good year for Rick Wakeman, although not quite such a good year for Anthony Phillips. Wink

Cozy Powell put out 3 decent solo albums in the 80's and Tilt was the first. I even recollect him being interviewed on BBC about how keen he was to work with friends at this time.

Nick Mason. Where I'm sitting I have a beautiful view of a plunger.

Maybe a strange vote, but I like very much of Honi Soit of John Cale.
"PROG IS MY FERRARI".

David Byrne-Catherine Wheel... a mind blower at the time. I had to find the cassette release( because the vinyl was edited ). After ''My Life in the Bush of Ghosts"; this followed as a companion piece. The musicians created musical pieces of depth and space. The sampled evangelist, old women, and lyrics take you away.

In 1981 it was Wakeman and Hackett. Nowadays my fav is Fictitious Sports
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Some really good ones here! Had to go with Ant over Mahavishnu: two of my favorite albums all-time from both artists.

From this list, Anthony Phillips's 1984 is by far the best. I know some fans don't appreciate the overly synthesized sound, but for me, this is one of those albums I can never grow tired of!
