Just wondering . . . Does anyone here like Dear Father? It has become my favorite Yes song over the years.

That's a Yessong I'm unfamiliar with.

It was originally recorded in 1969 and released as a single only. During the sessions for Time and a Word (1970) it was rerecorded with a different arrangement but was again only released as a single. It finally made it on the compilation album Yesterdays in 1975. It has grown over the years to be my favorite Yes song. Give it a listen:

"Dear Father" sounds good. It's a bit like a proggy version of the Beatles "Dear Prudence" Smile

Dear Father is one of those rare examples where the bridge and verse is better than the chorus. :P

OK, let's see if I can do it:
- Awaken.
- The Gates of Delirium.
- Close to the Edge.
- And you and I.
- South Side of the Sky.
- Roundabout.
- Starship Trooper.

And that's as far as I got. I'm really missing at least The Revealing Science of God and Turn of the Century, that should have made the list. And I'm not trying to include songs after the 70's because I would have made it even more difficult, though I might have slipped a few ones to the mix too.

Yes, Roundabout is languishing on just 12 points at the moment and not even Close to the Edge of making  it into the Top 7, with no Perpetual Change in sight, And You and I both know that Yours is No Disgrace if you didn't vote for it. Smile
