The word of the day, today, is "Propaganda;" don't fall victim to it. Use media literacy and practice skepticism to ensure you aren't being tricked nor deceived. Propaganda is a very strong and useful tactic to the foolish to divide and pit people against each other, and disinformation campaigns today make it ever all the wiser to identify cases where your media is trying to tell you what to think and push a narrative against your will. Don't be manipulated.
Am I going to elaborate on why I'm preparing this warning and what events I'm referring to? No. Do I understand the keyboard warriors here will have a field day over it? Yes. Do I care? No! Shall I post anyway? Yes! Whether or not you heed the warning is on you... Anyway, propaganda is the use of either facts or fact-manipulation, or moreso in recent years disinformation, eg lies on a foundation or disguise of reality, to sway the opinion of the masses one direction and to have them pick a designated stance on an issue. Critical thinking and skepticism are the traits needed to avoid falling into propagandistic traps, which exist in every facet of society, and in particular on the web, in the post-2020 age of the internet. My Dad warned me about propaganda when I was Nine. Socrates, Galileo, even Homer knew. But you are right. People are walking blind and believe just about anything. We could all be free if not for very real threat of being squashed by self appointed (and elected) kings, queens, and moneymen. And those who serve and protect them.

We’ve all seen the YouTube vids of newscasters across the nation saying the exact same things word for word. Americans are the most propagandized people in the world. Chinese, Russians…. They know they are being lied to. They also know how dangerous spouting certain truths can be.

The most successful type of propaganda is not when the manipulator manages to convince the crowd that they're always telling the truth, but rather when the manipulator manages to convince the crowd that everybody else is always lying.

Hi, I was born into a house of literature, and very high level of "intelect" in an academic setting. When putting a lot of rock lyrics, for example, next to many of those writers and books, only a handful can stand up and the majority is really poor imagery and design and imaginary cartoon thinking ... well at least Chuck Amuck was honest about his literature! Propaganda, in my book, is what folks do with the ratings, and numbers, for example ... though I'm not sure I would consider Mike, propaganda, specially as it is obvious the numbers are not as important with a different number 2, 3 or 4, next week, or month ... at that point propaganda tends to go to the loo! But, I seriously doubt that most folks on the "net" give a damn, or they would do something about a lot of things in this country, like getting rid of folks that are killing the education of the arts to the public in schools and everywhere else ... because they are "too liberal" ... But, you know, this is what the Internet is there for .. to confuse you more and more, and you hear 15 different experts talk about a band or a song ... and in the end, half of them have no music appreciation whatsoever, beyond naming a note or chord ... wow ... that's talent! By the time you hear those experts, specially the one that are knowledgeable, but only do easy music and stuff that is "middle of the road" ... you now know how valuable and important they are in their self interest and selling themselves for the sake of fame and fortune ... oh yeah, that's what the internet is for, isn't it? I think I might listen to DD after he does PDQ Bach ... but I doubt that he is into serious music, other than the same progrock over and over and over and over again! Seasonings 1/2 TSP would be good, but there are some oratorios worth noting ... like the incredible one that PA won't list (or discuss!!!) ... "Have You Got Any Onions?" Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Not as many onions as we do wineries now. Wine really drives up property values! I'm not quite sure how to respond to the rest of your comment but have a great day anyway! |
