EDIT: I was just looking at what I currently have listed as my top album for every 60s and up year ending with five, including this year so far, and this is my list. Art Zoyd's Le mariage, which I voted for in the other poll is in second place for 1985, but I don't take the rankings terribly seriously...

1965: Los Relámpagos - Los Relámpagos
1975: Cortex - Troupeau Bleu
1985: Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
1995: Swans - The Great Annihilator
2005: Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
2015: Anna von Hausswolff - The Miraculous
2025: BRUIT ≤ - The Age of Ephemerality

Love the idea for a poll. Hope to see more like it, and you get more variety across varied tastes than I would if doing my favourites.

I need some inspiration. I always appreciate your detailed responses Greg. Sure I could continue this but I feel there's a better idea. And you are right, I tried to give some variety instead of picking my favs for these two polls like usual. Maybe I just need to go further from my favs and cover more sub genres.

I don't have time to spin these as that would help, but then who does have that kind of time. 15 cds.
I ended up voting Deadwing too but honestly "on paper" there isn't one standing out for me even though there's a bunch of 5 star albums on here.

Thanks John, I appreciate these polls and topics that might be likely to bring more of the forum together. I think you have plenty of diversity, but one could maximise the poll options if one wished to. Follow your pleasure and MO, imo. :)
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.

I have trouble including 15 options. I always liked 10 or less. But... you are right, that there needs to be some diversity. My goal has always been not to have an album run away with a poll like Misplaced Childhood did on "Five". Miscalculation on my part. I saw it recently in a poll and not doing well. It's hard to guage the climate on here at times.
I think I will continue these.

^ However you want to do it, of course. Follow your bliss. For me the poll results don't matter much generally. I care about the posts and the conversation and don't treat these polls like contests.

And that's what I've always liked about your polls, it's about bringing music to people's attention, a discussion. It's not a contest.
