I can't judge the band in two different periods, like that.
There was n of much of a change between Clutching at Straws and Seasons End.

There were changes between albums in the Hogarth era, for instance from Brave to Afraid of Sunlight. Or marillion.com to Anoraknophobia.

Again, not a really big change in sound. Quality? Perhaps. But a pretty gradual progression in style there. Genesis have a pretty consistent gradient in their musical history. Their first album to Trespass is the biggest change, and even then it's not THAT drastic. Simply not a band that belongs in this conversation.

Maybe from Tales to Relayer. Otherwise I only hear a very natural and organic change and sometimes growth from one album to the next.

Hi,

I was just thinking that with time, and different instruments, the sound would naturally change ... it is not the same this or that ... except the over use of guitars, of course, and bad drummers that can only count and hit the snare drum until your head hurts!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
