In general, I believe that laudable prog musicians should have their own RIP thread, rather than only be mentioned in the long RIP thread.
Funny enough, I believe the opposite. This thread is pinned and will be here for reference, whereas the separate "laudable" posts get 3 or 4 posts and then disappear forever.

While storm clouds gathered high above
The heroine, he grew to love
Turned slowly to a snow white dove
And spread her wings to fly

RIP Dave Cousins - for the Hero & Heroine album alone, you left a massive mark.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

David Kaffinetti (David Kaff) former keyboard player with Rare Bird and also 'Viv Savage' keyboard player with Spinal Tap died age 79 on July 11th. Although probably best known for his appearance in the Spinal Tap movie, surely his part in penning the first progressive 'Hit single', Sympathy, those early Charisma label Rare Bird albums and the 'twin keyboard' band format has to be acknowledged. RIP Dave.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Dave Cousins; An acoustic version of the Strawbs played in a small town very near us in Devon, where Dave had lived in the early 70's and after the show he related the particular locations where some of his best known songs were written and the landscape around east and south Devon that inspired them. I have walked and sat in some of those places in the last couple of weeks and, particularly with the weather we have had recently (but despite the massive increase in tourism to the area) i really do understand that he truly 'caught a glimpse of Heaven'. Thank you Dave, RIP

Actually I'm surprised he lasted this long.   Kind of a miracle.

Huge respect.

Rest in peace to the Prince of Darkness. I am also surprised that he lasted this long, but also shocked that he died so soon after the Back to the Beginning final concert.
