I'm not sure I would say I like one over the other....But I chose ELO for the fact that Out of the Blue is a fantastic album. As well the albums before New World Record and El Dorado are excellent.

I only "like" some songs off some ELP albums. I guess I like more ELO albums than ELP albums.

These days ELO are probably far more well known (especially by non prog fans) but ultimately this is not about who is more popular just who you like more.

I really like early ELO, but I'll choose ELP for the far greater prog legacy.

Have to go with ELO also. They might not have the prog chops of ELP, but they had a longer stretch of enjoyable albums.

To me, ELO is nothing good or interesting, and definitely not serious Prog, if any.

With ten albums owned by ELO against two albums by ELP, it's gotta be ELO.

Elo were crap lol
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I like ELP, more. I guess ELO are ok, but just that.
Btw, in '75, ELO were on a US tour with Triumvirat opening things, and Triumvirat were sometimes "stealing the show" from ELO, which was one of the reasons they got booted from the tour....

I don't doubt that for a second.

I've only started to get into ELO in the past year or so so no vote from me. I try to be fair with things.

ELP every day, all day. After their first 4, ELO were strictly pop merchants. Anything afterward I turn off. Except for maybe "Fire on High". But that's it.

I kind of thought that since this is a prog site ELP would run away with it but so far that hasn't been the case since ELP are ahead by only a small margin.

ELO were on fire from El Dorado to Time, more or less, but they never did something like Tarkus or Brain Salad.

ELP.

Maybe not many bands did do something like Tarkus or Brain Salad though.
