1. Machine and the Synergetic Nuts - Leap Second Neutral (best so far hands down)
2. Wobbler - Hinterland (Best symphonic album this year maybe)
3. Willowglass - Willowglass
4. Magic Pie - Motions of Desire (Better than Deadwing or Spock's Beard's latest)
5. The Mars Volta - Fraces the Mute
Others I own of note - Porcupine Tree "Deadwing", Spock's Beard "Octane", Kino "Picture", K2 "Book of the Dead", Akacia "The Brass Serpent". I am getting Retroheads in the mail next week so expect to see that on my top 5 list soon!

Tough one as little has impressed me this year so far,but anyway:
1.Dream Theater - Octavarium
2.Kayak - Nostradamus ,The Fate Of Man
3.Mike Oldfield -Light and Shade
4.Glass Hammer - The Inconsolable Secret
5.
The best album of the year I predict will be Kate Bush 'Aerial' ,which will then complete my top five.

I'm still waiting for something of REAL value to come out this year. It's a far cry from say 1975, when it would be hard just to narrow the list to five. Sad to see how far the music scene has fallen.
Some decent releases from this year:
ADRIAN BELEW - Side 2
ERIC JOHNSON - Bloom

A good one in my opinion that hasn't yet been mentioned is the one in my signature.

Ghost Reveries, Frances The Mute, Deadwing have all been mentioned previously.
I'd also like to add Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked (death metal, but d**n good nonetheless)
and Arcturus - Sideshow Symphonies.

With science, you can turn a frog into a Ph.D. and you still have the frog you started with.

As for "Yo, Miles" by Henry Kaiser, etc. being on the list:
"This CD was the 2004 winner of the best High-Resolution, Stereo-Only release at the 2004 Surround Music Awards." (from the Cuneiform site, which also strangely also refers to it as a 2005 release).
Wrong dates aside, my favorite CD so far is sadly not on the list, "Carnival Detournement" by Hamster Theater.
