Me too; although I admire Marillion for Brave.

Brave, easily. It is the best album of Hogarth-era Marillion, as far as I have heard them, whereas Clutching as Straws, although still a good album, is not at par with its predecessors.

Maybe it's only my prejudice, but for me any Marillion album with Fish is stronger than every Hogarth effort with the band. So my vote consequently goes to Clutching At Straws (which, despite of this, is one of the most mature Marillion albums IMO).

CaS. None of both is really strong, but Marillion without Fish isn't interesting at all.

Sorry, "Clutching at Straws" is the only Marillion album that I really like. It easliy wins over brave.

Another one for CAS. Some of the best lyrics Fish has ever written IMO. I still prefer Fugazi though...

I find that when I listen to Brave I keep waiting for it to begin. It seems like a looooong introduction to something. The songs are so subtle I don't even know when they are happening!

I like them both. Some of the songs on Clutching at straws really stands out and are really good. I can't say that about Brave. Brave howerver feels more impressive and introverted as a whole package. Tough choice.
My preference would go to Clutching at Straws, I listen to that one a bit more.

Easy choice, while I like Brave just fine, CAS is my favorite Marillion album and quite probably fits into my top 20 albums ever.
Probably my favorite lyrics of any album, too...beautiful and heartbreaking.

Hogarth-era only ever made one great album (Marbles). Everything else is ho-hum. Clutching at Straws isn't entirely consistent but it has a fair amount of gems so it gets my vote.

CoS even for the first three tracks alone. Probably not as good as their first two albums but still quite strong. Brave is also fine though

Clutching at Straws, of course!
I mean, the overlong Brave isn't even my favourite H album. That award goes to Afraid of Sunlight.

Marillion only started when "Seasons End" came out, anything with that drunken Scottish buffoon who thinks he's a poet should be forgotten. "Brave" all the way!
