I'll agree with that, Cole does put up impressive numbers with pretty much no help.
We've been lucky to always have 2 good pass rushers, and usually more that we can sub in and out. OH! How was Tamba Hali snubbed!? Edited by JJLehto - January 16 2011 at 23:47 |

I agree with Cofield. Although his stupid sack celebration pisses me off. Yes I think Cole's better. That's not a knock on Tuck though. If you were to through Cole on your line, it would be insane. The man is unfortunately constantly doubled and tripled because there's absolutely nothing working on the other end of him. Also, the 2 gap system our DTs are forced to use prohibits them from really getting any pressure. Not that they're really guys that can generate a ton of pressure, but regardless the scheme doesn't help. Cole basically works solo on our line. It's insane how much he gets blatantly held too.

We need a team doing just that though, so our pro bowl can be 100% accurate! It may be dull but beats my current job.
I used to always be DE when playing football video games but later changed to MLB. No doubt, Cole is a beast. You think even better then Tuck though? And when it comes to really observing where people may not notice....I think Barry Cofield is a very unheralded DT. |

I watch a lot of Eagles film. It's one position I always look at. It's my favorite position in the game. Of course I don't see every team frequently. Of course I have imperfect information. I rely on other opinions partly too. I look at stats. In the NFC I can't think of a better DE working from the 4-3.

Hmmm that is another interesting point to take into consideration, but how can that be determined? Watch every game of ever team and note how well they push back/get around tackles or move the runner around? We need a dedicated team of people doing all this just to make an accurate pro bowl! |

Best 4-3 DE in the NFC. Never seen a DE play the run like he does.

So bored, must resist urge to make my own pro bowl list.
Although some of those stats they gave were impressive and not as readily available so it's difficult. Trent Cole had a great year, but was he a top 2 DE? (For a 4-3 system) I wish I had the number on how many hits/pressures they all had but for right now using nfl.com John Abraham had more sacks, and Justin Tuck has more sacks, overall tackles, and forced fumbles. If Cole made it on though can't say it'd really be an upset. I don't think I'm happy with Julius Peppers making it... Edited by JJLehto - January 16 2011 at 23:09 |

Ah yes. I believe he also made their pro-bowl snubs list. Although I don't remember that full list.
Speaking of snubs: No Trent Cole? Really?

I thought Timmons didn't make the pro-bowl?

I agree with Lewis (though he's borderline) as well as Steven Jackson, though I like him a lot and DeAngelo Hall and Gonzalez. Timmons really should have been in the Pro Bowl. Actually, a good amount of pro bowlers are undeserving IMO. Edited by JJLehto - January 16 2011 at 23:00 |

Oh snap. What? Even worse than O'Hara who played 6 games? And when he did play was worse then the guard who filled his spot? |

Not from the games I've seen him play. Profootball focus actually named him the worst probowl selection.

Yes, Big Ben is much better.
I think we all agree it'll be a tight game, and hopefully a good one. Pouncey was good, no doubt and it's tough to rank o-linemen but Nick Mangold is up their with the best. Edited by JJLehto - January 16 2011 at 22:37 |

Funny, center might be the one spot on the line where they don't have a major advantage. Pouncey is a pro-bowler and rightfully so

I agree, but the O-Line is more than just better on paper. It plays better. They probably have the second best center in the game this season. They are really outmatched at QB. I don't like Ben, but he's much better than Sanchez especially at extending plays.

I'd give them that, on paper. They haven't had to block against a team with an actual pass rush in the last two weeks, though, whereas the Steelers' line had to handle Baltimore. I don't see Sanchez having the same pocket he did this week which for him, in a game this big, could present problems. Ben, on the other hand, is used to making plays, in huge games, while running for his life.

Also, Jets have a better running game (kinda goes back to O-line). But it'll be uberclose. I think the teams are even.
