Only one album I've heard by TD isn't torture and that was the only one with Klaus Schulze on, which is ironic, as he's totally boring on his solo albums.

It still had some pretty typical Opeth heaviness, which sounded really cool with the 70's vibe they're striving to achieve.  It's like they wrote metal but put it through a cleaner channel on their cabs.
